Overview
Most platforms are designed to know as much as possible about the people using them. This one had to be designed around the opposite requirement. For someone seeking help while living with the person they need help about, an account history, a saved session or a browser trace is not a convenience. It is a risk.
The organisation needed to support people it could not identify, and to report on the service's work without that reporting ever being traceable to an individual.
What we built
We built privacy into the architecture. It was never a policy added on top.
Accounts are anonymous by design. The platform does not collect what it does not need, so there is nothing identifying to leak, subpoena or stumble over later. A safe-exit path lets someone leave the site instantly if they are interrupted, without the visit lingering on screen or in obvious history.
Reporting was built PII-stripped from the ground up. The organisation can evidence its work, usage, demand and outcomes at an aggregate level, because funders and boards need numbers, while the underlying records never contain the identifying details that would make those numbers dangerous.
The outcome
The organisation runs a service that people can reach without weighing help against exposure.
